Detailing
When scheduling a detailing service with Flatirons Detailing LLC, you are required to read the terms & conditions & FAQ prior to completing the scheduling process.

Q: How frequently should I get my car detailed? Do you offer maintenance plans?
A: Yes, we do offer maintenance plans upon request (4, 6, or 8 week freq. for most maintenance clients.) We recommend a minimum of two details per year. Please inquire for further information. Please note, the Alpine Detail & 5280 Detail are considered our maintenance detail packages, and are not suitable in standards for most new-client vehicles. Please note, leaving tree sap on paint, stains on upholstery, food on surfaces, etc. for an extended period of time will decrease the likelihood that areas are able to be fully extracted/cleaned. Similarly, we will not risk damage to client's vehicles when detailing, even at the client's request.

Q: Does every interior detail include a full upholstery & carpet shampoo?
A: Unfortunately, it does not, however, our interior deep-clean package does include the option for full upholstery and carpet shampoo. Please note, this does add significant time to the detail, thus the increased price. Note, the adhesive used in modern vehicle headliners tends to fail when chemicals, solvents, or steam touch the surface. Note, we will not be able to shampoo/steam headliners for any reason.

Q: Does a sedan cost the same amount of money as a three-row SUV?
A: We do price according to the size of the vehicle, but always price fairly by row & vehicle condition. We will let you know of any increases to the site's prices during scheduling & in-person viewing of the vehicle, as our quotes are not confirmed until seeing a vehicle in-person.

Q: How long will my detail take?
A: Although we are not able to give an exact duration for your vehicle specifically, we are able to give estimations based on previous experience with vehicles in the same size/class as yours. Please note that every vehicle's condition can vary greatly, thus the inability to quote an exact duration or price prior to visual inspection of your vehicle upon arrival. There will be times where more than one detailer will be attending to your vehicle, which will significantly reduce the duration. While drive-through car washes generally take around five minutes duration, we may spend 5-10 minutes detailing a single wheel. Please keep in mind that we do most things by hand; we are not able to provide "car-wash" type services, and most vehicles will require a deep-clean in order to meet the standards of both clients and ourselves.

Q: I have to reschedule my detail or will be late - is that possible? Fees?
A: We are currently requiring a $75 cancellation fee for any detail cancelled outside of the 24 hour window preceding your scheduled appointment. Flatirons generally runs on a relatively tight schedule; if running late, please text or call as soon as possible, though it is possible that your detail may have to be rescheduled. We require confirmation of your appointment prior to your scheduled time, as communication is of high importance to us. Clients will receive a text confirmation prior to their scheduled detail time. Thank you for your understanding.

Q: What can I do to prepare for my detail?
A: Fortunately, we make this pretty easy on our clients. All we ask is that you please remove all personal items, large trash, and child-seats. We are happy to do a quick-vac of the child-seats if requested; we are unable however, to shampoo, steam, or extract child-seats for any reason. We will need access to a water spigot & a power outlet; we bring hoses & cords respectively.

Q: Do you remove pet hair? Is there a fee?
A: At Flatirons Detailing, we strive to provide top-notch service tailored to your specific needs, and our pricing reflects the quality and attention to detail we bring to every job. When it comes to pet hair removal, it's never just a simple vacuuming task, and might be one of the reasons you are bringing your vehicle to us. Pet hair often embeds itself deeply into upholstery and carpet fibers, making it a time-consuming and labor-intensive process to ensure a thorough removal. Our team utilizes specialized tools and techniques to effectively eliminate pet hair, which require additional time and effort compared to standard detailing tasks. The majority of vehicles that come into our care do not have pet hair, which allows us to begin the detailing process nearly immediately. When we encounter pet hair especially in large quantities, we are equipped and prepared to handle, but we will note that pet hair fees will likely be assessed to cover the cost of extra resources, tools, and expertise required to achieve the pristine results our clients expect. We understand the importance of a clean and comfortable vehicle environment especially for pet owners, and our pricing reflects our commitment to delivering exceptional services. Note, Flatirons will not confirm any detailing quotes until visual inspection, upon arrival for your scheduled detail appointment.

Q: What types of products do you use?
A: We use water-based and primarily organic-based chemicals for both interior & exterior details. Thanks to our chemistry background, we are able to make the majority of products in house. This is to ensure the safety of both you & your vehicle. We are currently in the process of patenting a few of our interior chemicals.

Q: Do you clean biohazards? Is there a fee?
A: We do clean certain biohazardous waste, however, we are unable to offer every service. Please feel free to send a message with your info & details. If we happen to find something during the detail, we will be in full communication with you. Please advise us of any prior vehicle theft; broken glass, residue, etc. - this is to ensure all employees of Flatirons Detailing remain safe & unharmed. Please note that there will be a $550 minimum charge for mold removal. Please note that there will be a $350 minimum charge for vomit removal. If we arrive and were not given prior notice of biohazards, we will assess the noted fees, or we may cancel the appointment if uncomfortable with the arrangements. Please note that none of our detailing packages include hazard removal.

Q: Someone smoked in my vehicle - can you do anything about the stench?
A: Fortunately, we offer full ozone deodorization treatments at a small charge ($75-150) - please ask for more details. Flatirons Detailing does not guarantee the full removal of any odor, due to varying vehicle conditions, levels of soiling, and duration of odor presence. Please note, the longer an odor remains in an enclosed space, the less likely the odor is to be fully removed. Flatirons Detailing does not guarantee the removal of scents/odors from your vehicle, due to the variability in duration of soiling and the initial cause for the odor. Note, if the odor is found to be due to vomit, feces, urine, or any other biohazards, Flatirons will either assess a biohazard fee or cancel your detailing appointment. If known, we require clients to disclose the cause of odor prior to scheduling a detail.

Q: Which payment methods do you accept?
A: We currently accept cash, check, credit card, cryptocurrency (Bitcoin,) and e-payment (Zelle & Venmo.) Payment is due upon completion of the service(s.)

Q: Do you clean the center console or glove box?
A: To ensure the safety of our detailers, we do not include center console or glovebox cleaning. Similarly, to ensure the safety of our detailers, we cannot remove weapons, illicit substances, or other items of hazard. We do not clean or open the spare tire compartment of vehicles unless you have fully removed the spare tire, tools and any other items in preparation for cleaning.

Q: Do you remove the vehicle's seats to shampoo or clean under the seats?
A: To ensure the safety of every client, we do not remove or re-install seats for any reason. We have small tool-ends to ensure we reach nearly all cracks & crevices while detailing.

Q: Why does your team take before & after pictures of the vehicle?
A: We take thorough pictures & videos of the vehicle both before and after the detail (inside & out) to ensure the safety of your vehicle. We take pride in our work, and love to share with the community. We will always ensure that your license plate is covered with our signature magnetic plate or blurred while being photographed for media purposes. We perform a pre-cleaning inspection of the entire vehicle which highlights any pre-existing problem areas (i.e. tears; worn areas; stains which have discolored fabrics, leather or vinyl; dents, scratches, swirl marks, road paint splatter, battery discharge, marring, cracked/chipped or damaged glass anywhere, broken screens, sunroof mechanical failure, automatic door disfunction, plastic abrasion, engine/dash lights, TPMS sensor failure, mold/corrosion, etc.) If aware, we require clients to disclose such issues prior to beginning a detail service. We appreciate your understanding.

Q: Do you detail the engine-bay or anything under the hood?
A: Unfortunately, no, we do not provide engine bay detailing. For liability and insurance purposes, you will never see Flatirons open the hood of your vehicle. This way, we can confidently ensure that we do not affect the mechanical ability of your car in any way shape or form. We also ensure that headlights are turned off, displays are not on, and the key is out of the vehicle so the battery will never drain. Flatirons carries battery testing tools, and will immediately be able to tell if the battery was already faulty, at the end of it's life, or discharged. Flatirons does not accept liability for discharged batteries after service. Flatirons Detailing utilizes CTEK Battery Tenders/Trickle Chargers, which are the standard for most vehicle manufacturers, if a vehicle is being left in our possession for more than one calendar week. Please inspect your vehicle to ensure all lights, both interior & exterior, are completely turned off before vehicle service.

Q: Will upholstery/carpet steam/shampoo remove every stain from my vehicle?
A: Unfortunately, no. While the pre-treating and steam extraction process is the most effective cleaning procedure available, some spills, particularly any with red-colors dyes, can actually damage and dye carpet and upholstery fibers. Color changes from these spills are permanent unless the material is replaced or re-dyed. We cannot guarantee the removal of certain substances such as PlayDoh, melted crayon, bubblegum, etc.

Q: Our vehicle is rarely detailed (if ever.) Can you make it look new again?
A: While having your vehicle detailed once in it's lifetime, right before you sell, will slightly improve first impressions from potential buyers, most likely the vehicle has deteriorated with clear coat damage & oxidation, soiled interior, etc. - sometimes to a level beyond reconditioning. We can remove most stains on the interior & polish some oxidation, but unfortunately, your vehicle will likely not be in the same condition as it was new, from the factory floor. Please note, we are unable to provide restorative services to plastic, leather, and fabric. Restorative services are not included in any detailing package. Having your vehicle detailed frequently throughout it's lifetime adds value to the vehicle, and provides a pristine driving experience for both drivers and occupants.

Q: What is the difference between paint correction, polishing, and buffing?
A: Paint Correction is a professional term for the preceding terms. Compounding and polishing are two commonly utilized techniques that generally require use of orbital machines in addition to cutting pads, polishing pads, and product. This process involves the leveling of microscopic layers of the vehicle's clear coat, and provides a smooth & more mirror-like finish. Unlike simple waxing, where light scratches are filled temporarily with product, paint correction provides a more-permanent solution, by use micro-abrasives to enhance and correct the paint. Paint correction is a labor-intensive process that requires extensive knowledge, materials, and experience. Paint correction & polishing are not included in any of our detail packages. Please see our Ceramic Coating page for more information.

Q: What are the differences between hard and soft paint?
A: Overall paint workability & resistance. Hard paint can be difficult to polish & correct; sometimes requiring eight hours to a few days of correction depending on the size and condition of your vehicle's paint. Soft paint is a touch easier, but does require a similar, several-stage corrective process. Regardless of the paint on one's vehicle, once corrected, the vehicle must be properly maintained in order to minimize future scratching & micro-swirling within the clear coat.

Q: Do you require someone to be home while you work on the car?
A: Yes, we do required that someone is home to ensure we are able to effectively and efficiently communicate. We prefer to go over every vehicle with every client in-person prior to beginning a detail. We may cancel the detail appointment if we are uncomfortable with the arrangement without the client's presence.

Q: Are you insured?
A: Yes, we are fully licensed & insured in the state of Colorado.

Q: Can I text your number to schedule a service?
A: Yes, you are welcome to text our main line +1 (720) 391-0981, to schedule a detailing service.
Q: The weather is poor the day of my detail - can we reschedule? Is there a fee?
A: Yes, we would be happy to reschedule your detail appointment due to inclement weather (we do of course, live in Colorado!) There is no fee for rescheduling due to inclement weather, as we only want to do a proper job for our clients. Please note, your detail may have to be rescheduled for a later date if temperatures are below 40 degrees F with wind chill; the majority of our products are water based, and will not properly clean your vehicle with freezing temperatures.

Ceramic Coating

When scheduling a ceramic coating service with Flatirons Detailing LLC & Flatirons Automotive Group LLC, you are required to read the terms & conditions & FAQ prior to completing the scheduling process.

Q: What is the average cure time for ceramic coatings?
A: The entire curing process for modern ceramic coatings takes around thirty days, but the vehicle is generally safe to drive after 36-48 hours. Note, factors such as environment, weather, temperature, humidity, pollen, sap, bird droppings, etc may effect the curing process in longevity & appearance. We do not recommend washing your vehicle during the curing process to ensure full adhesion and uninterrupted bonding to the paint surface. Similarly, we recommend avoiding hard-driving conditions such as freshly-coated roads with chip-seal, off-road terrain, heavy weather & precipitation.

Q: What is the average life-expectancy for a ceramic coating?
A: This answer varies depending on the product and how the vehicle is washed & maintained proceeding the coating process. Some manufactures will promise more extensive longevity, though in experience, we tend to see a 2-4 year duration from most coatings. Note, ceramic coating is not permanent.

Q: Is ceramic coating a shield for your vehicle?
A: No, ceramic coating is not a substitute for paint protection film or similar applicative films. Although ceramic coatings protect your clear-coat layer to an extent, once fully cured, scratches, abrasions, and similar etchings will most likely affect layers deeper than the ceramic coating; i.e. clear-coat, paint, panel, etc. Ceramic coatings are well-known for forming a hard, slick & hydrophobic surface that is fairly resistant to harsh chemicals, some heat, and UV radiation. The hydrophobic properties allow a more efficient wash process, and generally disallow substances such as mud, bugs and dust from sticking to it. Note, ceramic coating, when leveled and fully cured is around 1-2 microns in depth, which is around 75-100x thicker than most waxes.

Q: Can you ceramic coat over a painted surface that has PPF installed?
A: Yes, in most cases, we even recommend this to clients as a method of better ensuring paint protection from scratches, rock-chips, small abrasives, etc. Similarly, we recommend ceramic coating for vehicles that have been wrapped with vinyl-film. In experience, we have observed enhanced durability of PPF, hydrophobic properties, UV protection, and improved aesthetics in terms of depth & gloss of the paint. Ceramic coating can provide a layer of visual-depth to matte & satin painted/wrapped surfaces. Note, not all ceramic coatings are made for matte/satin finishes, and will likely enhance the gloss appearance of any surfaces it is applied to.

Q: Does ceramic coating create a perfectly flat/plane surface over the paint?
A: Generally, no - this all depends on the condition of your vehicle's paint prior to coating & preparation. Damage to the paint of the car prior to paint protective film (PPF) installation will generally leave micro-hills & valleys in the clear-coat and painted surfaces. Ceramic coating utilizes nanotechnology, which traces all imperfections, leaving a thin coating once dry and cured. We describe the ceramic coating visually as having left depth, contrast, and a smoothing effect to most paint, though it will not fill temporarily or permanently, the micro-hills/valleys in the clear-coat.

Q: Can you apply a ceramic coating to a waxed vehicle?
A: Unfortunately, no, the chemical structure of the ceramic coating requires bonding directly to the prepared surface. To ensure full adhesion, the surface must be prepped utilizing a several-step process with clay, degreaser, alcohol solution, and oil removal. Similarly, we do not recommend applying any wax to a ceramic-coated surface. We will recommend certain ceramic sealants upon request, depending on driving habits, conditions, and typical wash process. We do not recommend clay-barring, polishing, hand-waxing, buffing, or any similarly process proceeding the ceramic coating application (this will void all warranties and inclusions.)

Q: Is paint correction required with my ceramic coating? Is paint correction included with my ceramic coating?
A: No, paint correction is not required nor is paint correction included in our ceramic coating packages. We will provide several options when scheduling a ceramic coating service - both with and without paint corrective offerings. Paint correction is utilized to enhance the appearance of the clear-coat layer of the paint, but is not required for proper adhesion. We recommend paint correction for vehicles with swirling, marring, micro-abrasions, etc. and will provide quotes upon visually inspection of the vehicle. Quotes provided over the phone are not finalized until a Flatirons Detailing LLC employee has inspected the vehicle in-person.

Q: Can you ceramic coat the interior of my vehicle?
A: Yes - though not included in our ceramic coating packages, we are happy to discuss options for ceramic coating the interior of your vehicle. We generally see good adhesion and protection on areas such the arm-rest, leather seats, door-rest, door sill, door-jamb/rain-gutter, and dash leather. Note, it is also possible to ceramic coat eco-leather surfaces in modern vehicles and EVs.

Q: Is ceramic coating on my wheels included? Is this possible?
A: No, ceramic coating on wheels is not included in any packages, and is provided as a bespoke service for clients when requested. We do not recommend using traditional coatings on your wheels, due to the potential for heat damage & corrosion. Similarly, brake dust can become difficult to remove, and the preparation process can result in damage of the wheel-surface if improperly installed.

Q: Does my ceramic coating service include a warranty?
A: Yes - this will depend on many factors, such as the year & condition of the vehicle, the selected ceramic product, manufacturer warranties, etc. The warranty does not cover bird dropping etching, water-marking, tree-sap removal, staining, marring, or any abrasions, scratches scuffs, or preexisting damage. Similarly, utilizing automatic carwashes that are not touch-less, leaving vehicle next to sprinklers, and in unprotected environments will void warranties in most cases. Warranties will not cover use of abrasive compounds or polishes, damage as result of a collision, failure to repair surfaces in a timely manner, extreme weather conditions, or use of third-party waxes.

Paint Correction

When scheduling a paint corrective service with Flatirons Detailing LLC & Flatirons Automotive Group LLC, you are required to read the terms & conditions & FAQ prior to completing the scheduling process.

Q: What is paint correction, and why is it necessary?
A: Paint correction is a meticulous process that involves removing imperfections such as swirl marks, scratches, and oxidation from the clear-coat surface of automotive paint. Over time, these perfections accumulate from drive-through carwashes, improper washing methods & tools, and diminish the overall appearance of your vehicle. Our paint corrective services are aimed at restoring and enhancing the clarity and depth of your vehicle's paint, bringing it back to a glossy & glimmering finish.

Q: How does Flatirons Detailing approach the Paint Correction process?
A: Our skilled detailers employ a multi-step process that includes thorough cleaning, decontamination, and the use of professional-grade compounds to gently remove imperfections from the clear-coat surface. We utilize ®RUPES, professional-grade, rotary polishers, and DA polishes for certain situations. Before any correction begins, our highly-knowledgable team will assess for issues, and perform a paint-depth analysis on every body panel that will receive paint correction; this ensure that we will never cut too deeply into the clear-coat, and will allow enough material for future correction. Note, paint correction is effective in addressing a variety of imperfections including swirl marks, light-scratches, water-spotting, bird-dropping etching, and other minor paint defects. However, it's important to note that deep scratches or paint chips may require much more extensive repair methods, not available through our mobile services. For most vehicles, an 80-90% swirl-free finish will make your vehicle look simply stunning.

Q: Is there any risk of damage to my vehicle during the Paint Correction process?
A: Flatirons Detailing prioritizes the utmost care care for your vehicle(s). Our detailers are highly trained and experienced, having worked on a variety of vehicles from daily-drivers to hypercars, which minimizes the risk for damage. We also utilize professional-grade products & tools to ensure a safe and effective paint correction process, free of damage. Our teams will take extensive pictures of your vehicle, both before & after, in every angle and lighting to ensure your vehicle is free of defects that might divert our paint corrective processes. Our team will take various precautions to protect your vehicle during the paint correction process, including the addition of masking tape to protect vulnerable areas, controlling the speed and pressure of rotary tools, and working in controlled environments to minimize the risk of contamination. Flatirons Detailing will never risk damage to the client's vehicle, even at the client's request; thus, we are unable to guarantee removal of all imperfections.

Q: Does Flatirons Detailing offer loaner vehicles or a shuttle service?
A: Unfortunately, Flatirons does not offer loaner vehicles or a complimentary shuttle services. However, most of our services are completely mobile, which allows our highly-skilled detailers to complete your paint correction (with certain exceptions) in your home-garage. Our teams will bring LED tripod lighting, heaters, and all of the professional equipment that you will find at our brick-and-mortar location. If you do not have a closed/attached garage at your area of residence, we have several branded canopy tents with walls that our teams can utilize for vehicles under 14' in length.

Q: How long does Paint Correction take?
A: The duration of paint corrective services can vary depending on several factors, including the size & condition of the vehicle, the extent of the imperfections, and the level of correction required. Smaller vehicles like supercars may take around 4-6 hours to complete, while a larger vehicle like an Escalade may take somewhere around 10-14 hours to complete. Flatirons prioritizes high quality services over time-figures, and will always communicate approximate durations upon inspection of your vehicle in-person, and after discussing your goals for the paint correction. If any issues or increases in time are required to complete your paint correction, expect prompt communication from a member of our team.

Q: Does Flatirons Detailing require Paint Correction before Ceramic Coating application? Do you require Ceramic Coating after?
A: No, we do not require paint correction prior to the application of ceramic coating, nor do we require ceramic coating after a paint correction. However, we recommend investing in the combination of both paint corrective services & ceramic coating to give your vehicle a glossier finish, and to remove imperfections that will only be enhanced by the ceramic coating. Think of your paint as the skin of a vehicle; if cleaned but not protected, you risk damage from UV rays, are more prone to fading/oxidation, etc. In cases of PPF application, we will recommend paint correction, PPF placement, and ceramic coating as the final layer to seal out contaminants and provide a hydrophobic layer of resistance. If clients opt out of ceramic coating post paint correction, we will have the client sign a release of liability, as most vehicles will need a full correction within months if not protected. We have seen brand new, multi six-figure vehicles, come through after only 2-3 washes, with a multitude of imperfections. We will always recommend doing things properly to ensure to results that are achieved, are sustained for years to come.

Q: Does Flatirons Detailing offer wet-sanding services for deep scratches and imperfections?
A: No, we do not offer wet-sanding services at this time. Paint correction is a less invasive method that addresses most surface imperfections without compromising the integrity of the clear-coat. It is suitable for a wide range of paint issues and is generally sufficient in achieving a quality-finish. Wet-sanding, however, carries a much higher risk of damaging the paint if not executed with extreme care and expertise. Due to it's complex nature and potential for unintended consequences, wet-sanding is typically reserved for specific situations, and is not offered by Flatirons Detailing. Our commitment is to provide effective and safe solutions for enhancing your vehicle's appearance; paint correction aligns with this philosophy while minimizing risk for damage.

Paint Protection Film (PPF)

When scheduling a Paint Protection Film (PPF) appointment with Flatirons Detailing LLC, you are required to read the terms & conditions & FAQ prior to completing the scheduling process.

Q: What is Paint Protection Film (PPF?)
A: Paint Protection Film, or PPF, is a transparent, self-healing, and durable film applied to the exterior of vehicle surfaces, and further protects them from road debris, stone chips, bug splatter, bird droppings, magnesium chloride, and similar environment contaminants.

Q: What are a few benefits of PPF?
A: There are a multitude of benefits regarding PPF and it's application to vehicles. This includes protection against rock-chips, scratches, debris, UV paint faded, self-healing properties, and relative maintenance of vehicle's resale value by preserving it's exterior finish. Note, even if self-healing, PPF will only prevent markings & damage to an extent.

Q: Can PPF be removed if I decide to do so later on?
A: We would recommend contacting us or a reputable PPF/Vinyl Installer prior to removing any film. If the film is properly applied to a full-cured painted vehicle with no prior issues or imperfections, it can generally be removed, even in one piece, without damaging the painted surfaces beneath. This allows for permanent removal or reapplication if desired. Removal does however, require meticulous effort and technique; we advise allowing a professional shop or installer to remove your PPF. Note, properly maintained PPF will remove much more easily than yellow, oxidized, and peeling film. Flatirons charges clients hourly for PPF, Vinyl, and Tint removal.

Q: What are a few characteristics of poorly installed PPF or "clear-bra?"
A: There are several notable characteristics of improper installation of PPF film. When stretched past it's threshold, a significant change in appearance may be present. A small amount of this stretching is certainly acceptable around compound curves, but should be minimal. Similarly, excessive gaps due to misalignment can present if the pattern was improperly installed. Note, the overall maintenance of PPF significantly increases the life-span & appearance of such.

Q: Can PPF be applied over a vehicle that has had areas repainted or has had paint touch-up?
A: We recommend that any repainted areas on your vehicle be professionally painted & full cured prior to beginning the PPF application process. Generally, this paint-curing process takes 45-90 days. If PPF is removed when paint is previously improperly installed, there is a high likelihood of areas of the paint peeling. We require clients to disclose prior painting history, re-painting, auto-body history, touch-up paint history, accident history. Our teams are trained in utilizing advanced paint thickness measuring tools, and will cancel your service appointment if you fail to disclose these areas during the scheduling process. Note, if any painted areas have rock-chips present, the surface will not be completely flat - raised areas and chips will be present after install.

Q: How should I properly maintain my Paint Protection Film (PPF?)
A: Maintaining your PPF is simple and better ensures it's longevity. We recommend regularly washing your vehicle with a mild (pH neutral) automotive detergent and clean water, using a soft microfiber cloth/sponge. Avoid abrasive cleaners, waxes containing dyes, and sprinklers. To properly dry, pat the surface gently with a clean, soft towel specifically made for drying purposes. Periodic inspections for water-spotting, bird-droppings, or other contaminants and further, addressing them promptly will result in PPF that looks pristine. We recommend a full ceramic coating package over all PPF & color-change vinyl applied vehicles. Do not use clay bars or clay towels - this will leave visible marring, and will void any warranty associated with your installed film.

Q: Do you wrap film around the edges?
A: Certainly, if the client requests this during the scheduling process - our goal is to provide you with the most seamless install possible however, we want to ensure the film will properly stick and lay for the duration of it's lifespan. With modern techniques we can customize the PPF film to wrap edges, tuck corners, and shrink around badges. If there is a large enough area for our teams to tuck & lay the film flat, there should be no issues in this regard. In most cases, clients are not requesting a completely custom-cut film, as most films are pre-cut by the software. Note, custom-cut film installation can significantly increase the labor & cost associated with PPF installation. That is, it will likely be possible to see edges of the film even if properly installed. Note, we will not risk damage to the clients vehicle, even at the client's request.

Q: What are relief-cuts & seams?
A: PPF is around 2-3x thicker than standard color-change vinyl, which does not allow for the stretching-habits or pliability. To avoid overstretching and to ensure proper adhesion of the film, manufactures will place relief cuts or seamed pieces into the plotted layout. This is generally utilized in fairly inconspicuous areas; i.e. complex panel, curvy panel, intricate bumper. This technique is necessarily, as it greatly improves the films adhesion, and reduces the risk for pullback/lift on the film. Installers typically have limitations as to what they are able to hide, visually, and Flatirons is no different. We prefer not to push the limitations of the film to ensure your PPF lasts for many miles of driving. Please remember, PPF was designed as Paint Protection Film not paint "perfection" film.

Q: Will my PPF look perfect?
A: PPF installation is very difficult, labor-intensive, intricate, and costly. The material itself is not cheap, and hair or overly-stretched film will result in the piece needing to be replaced. Bubbles, lift-lines, and water under the film are common occurrences in every PPF install. Air bubbles tend to evaporate over several days (or weeks, depending on environment & temperature.) If air bubbles are still present after this period, there are only a few techniques to remove this contaminant. Most reputable installers will always strive for perfection, though without a space-age filtration system and sealed entryways, there will always be a degree of dust contamination. Pre-existing flaws such as scratches, abrasions, rock-chips, sanding marks, orange peel, marring, and misaligned body panels are much much noticeable in appearance, and tend to be magnified after PPF is applied. We have seen firsthand, imperfections in the paint of bespoke vehicles worth six-figures or more. In most cases, the condition of your vehicle plays a crucial role in the installation of PPF. A swirl-free, chip-free, and paint-corrected panel will allows allow for more pristine results.

Vinyl Wraps

When scheduling a Vinyl Wrapping appointment with Flatirons Detailing LLC, you are required to read the terms & conditions & FAQ prior to completing the scheduling process.

Q: What is vinyl wrap, and how does it differ from traditional paint?
A: Vinyl wrapping is a process where we apply a thing, adhesive-backed vinyl film to surfaces of the vehicle. Unlike traditional paint, vinyl wraps are removal, and serve to both protect the paint and change the color/background of your vehicle. Note, vinyl wrap is not a replacement for paint; most surfaces require pristine paint to ensure adhesion and durability.

Q: What types of vehicles can be wrapped with vinyl?
A: Our premium vinyl wraps are suitable for a wide range of vehicles, including cars, trucks, boats, freight trucks, and even RVs. If the vehicle has a smooth surface, we can likely wrap it! We are unable to however, wrap primed or unpainted surfaces of the vehicle, as the texture does not allow for proper adhesion of air-egress vinyl, and makes the application more prone to failure and lifting.

Q: What are a few limiting factors when vinyl wrapping a vehicle?
A: First & foremost, the surface condition plays a crucial role in ensuring proper adhesion to the vehicle surface. If a vehicle has extensive dents, rusting, rock-chipping, or other irregularities, it may impact the adhesion and overall finish of the vinyl. If the condition of the paint is poor or if we note areas of peeling & damage, we will likely recommend repair of the affected areas prior to scheduling a vinyl wrap appointment. Lastly, the shapes and lines of a vehicle can dictate the quality and seamlessness of a vinyl wrap. That is, vehicles with intricate designs, sharp curves, industrial design, and complex body shapes can require more time & material to achieve a flawless finish.

Q: How long does a vinyl wrap last? Does Colorado's climate have any role in the loss of lifespan?
A: The lifespan of a vinyl wrap typically depends on various factors, including the quality of the material, the environmental conditions, and the overall maintenance of the vinyl wrap. On average, a well-maintained vinyl wrap can last between 4 to 6 years, however, the climate in Colorado, or any other mountain region, can influence the lifespan of the wrap. Colorado has a diverse climate with cold winters, hot summers, and constant exposure to UV radiation due to the higher elevation. Though vinyl wraps are engineered to resist UV rays, temperature fluctuation, and moisture, prolonged exposure to environmental elements can degrade the appearance and durability of the vinyl. Exposure to hail, extreme wind, rain, or snow will similarly negatively affect the lifespan. Flatirons recommends regular maintenance to remove dirt, magnesium chloride, and other contaminants from the vinyl wrapped surfaces. We also recommend but do not require, a ceramic coating over the top of the vinyl wrap. In experience, this significantly reduces the cleaning time, and provides one extra layer of chemical protection. Note, Flatirons is not liable for peeling or bubbling when exposed to such conditions and elements. Vinyl wraps do not protect against hard abrasions, heavy stone-chips, road debris, or large/deep scratches.

Q: Can vinyl wrap be removed without damaging the vehicle's original paint?
A: Yes, one of the advantages of vinyl wraps is that they can be removed without causing damage to the vehicle's original paint when done properly. It is important to note that the ease of removal can be influence by factors such as the quality of the vinyl, skill of the applicator/installer, and how well the vehicle was maintained during the life of the vinyl wrap. Flatirons does note remove vinyl wraps from other installers, due to the lack of knowledge pertaining to the material, vehicle history, and similar factors.

Q: Am I able to choose a custom design for my vehicle? What options are available?
A: Yes, absolutely - some of our favorite aspects of being a premium automotive styling business are the customization and bespoke elements that can applied to your vehicle. We offer a wide range of colors, textures, and finishes that will suit the style of many. Our design team can work with you to create a custom design/template that reflects your style, passion, and love for your vehicle. Proceeding our initial consultation, our team will conceptualize, and create a rendering, that will require client approval prior to printing and application.

Q: What are relief-cuts & seams?
A: Relief cuts and seams are techniques used by professional vinyl wrapping installers to achieve a smooth & more precise application, especially on vehicle surfaces that contain complex curves, shapes, and contours. These techniques help the vinyl conform to the surfaces without need for excessive stretching; this further reduces the risk of wrinkles, bubbles, and lifting of the vinyl material. When done correctly, application of these techniques should be relatively seamless and inconspicuous, ensuring an overall enhanced appearance of the vehicle. See PPF relief-cuts/seams question above.

Q: How should I properly maintain my vinyl wrap?
A: Proper maintenance is essential in ensuring the longevity and appearance of your vinyl wrap. We recommend regular maintenance detailing and a hand-wash process. This detailing should include use a mild and pH neutral detergent specifically formulated for vinyl wraps, and should avoid use of harsh cleaning tools, abrasive sponges, or other materials. We also recommend avoiding automatic car-washes, as most use stiff brushes & high-pressure nozzles that will damage the vinyl. Opt for a touchless system or as previously mentioned, a hand-wash. Flatirons also recommends avoiding waxes & similar products; these products will leave a film/residue over the vinyl material, and may cause etching. We also recommend prompt removal of contaminants, especially in Winter months, to ensure durability and longevity. Contaminants such as bird droppings, tree sap, magnesium chloride, and environmental elements can cause damage, staining, etching, or abrasion of the vinyl wrap. Lastly, we recommend ensuring that your maintenance wash includes special attention to the edges and seams of the vinyl wrap; avoid using exessive pressure or force to prevent lifting and peeling.

Window Tint

When scheduling a window tinting appointment with Flatirons Detailing LLC, you are required to read the terms & conditions & FAQ prior to completing the scheduling process.

Q: What is window tinting, and why should I consider it for my vehicle?
A: Window tinting is the application of a thin film to the interior surface of a vehicle’s windows. This film offers numerous benefits, including UV protection, heat reduction, glare reduction, increased privacy, and overall enhanced aesthetic. Flatirons Detailing specializes in premium window tinting services, both through our mobile teams and at our brick & mortar shop, to provide a seamless and high quality service for all clients.

Q: What types of window tinting film does Flatirons Detailing offer?
A: Flatirons Detailing exclusively utilizes premium, scientifically-engineered window tint films - options include ceramic, carbon, and hybrid films, each designed to provide optimal heat rejection, UV protection, and clarity while similarly maintaining a luxurious appearance.

Q: Does tint get applied to the interior or exterior surface of my vehicle’s windows?
A: All automotive window tint film is applied to the interior surfaces of your vehicle’s windows. If you are watching one of our tinting technicians install your tint, you may see them briefly attach the film to the outside surface; know that this is temporary, and is to ensure the proper fit and cut of the film. Once measurements and adjustments have been made, the film will be applied to the interior surfaces of your windows. In some cases, your door panels may be removed during the tint application process in order to prevent gaps along the bottom edge, though this will significantly increase the cost of the service.

Q: How long does the window tint installation process typically take?
A: The duration of the installation process depends on several factors including the size of the vehicle, the film selected, and the condition of the vehicle. That is, it is much easier to tint a new vehicle off the lot than a work-truck that may have been tinted two times previously. On average, our experienced team can complete the installation within two to four hours for a mid-sized SUV.

Q: How long do you require my windows be kept rolled up proceeding window tint installation?
A: We require that clients keep their windows rolled up for a minimum of five full days, in the summer months, and 8-10 days in the colder months, as temperature, humidity, and climate greatly affect the curing process and it’s efficacy. If windows are rolled down before this, the tint often peels, as it has not properly cured and adhered to the glass. Our expertly trained technicians know the obvious signs of damage due to this occurrence; Flatirons Detailing LLC will not be held liable or responsible for any tint damage after installation, and your warranty will be voided if we suspect you have done so against our recommendations.

Q: Can I choose the level of tint darkness?
A: Yes, we offer a range of tint films with varying translucencies - our team will work with you to determine the appropriate level of darkness that complies with local regulations while achieving your desired aesthetic and performance goals.

Q: How do you recommend caring for tinted windows proceeding installation?
A: To maintain the appearance and longevity of your tinted windows, we recommend avoiding abrasive cleaners and sharp objects that could scratch the film. Clean the windows regularly with a gentle, ammonia-free cleaner, and a plush, high GSM microfiber cloth to remove dirt and debris without damaging the film. Note, if you use a window cleaner that is ammonia based, such as Windex, your warranty will be voided as this contributes to the degradation of the film.

Q: Am I allowed to apply stickers or decals to tinted windows?
A: While it is technically possible to apply stickers or decals to tinted windows, we advise against it. The adhesive in some stickers can cause damage to the tint film and may be difficult to remove without causing further harm. If you must apply stickers or decals, we recommend placing them on the exterior surface of the windows, away from the tinted area.

Q: Why does some film to a blue/purple color over time?
A: Unfortunately, some window tint films may develop a purple or blue hue over time due to a phenomenon known as dye-degradation. This occurs when the dyes used in the tinting process undergo chemical changes, typically as a result of prolonged exposure to UV radiation. To mitigate the risk of color change, it is essential to choose high-quality tint films like the premium products used at Flatirons. Regular maintenance and avoiding prolonged exposure to harsh UV rays can also aid in preserving the color and longevity of the window tint.

Q: I have noticed hazing and a lack of visibility where my pet friend sits - what likely occurred?
A: Dog saliva contains enzymes and other chemical compounds that have the innate ability to break down certain materials, including most window tint films. When a dog, licks, drools, presses their snout against the window tint, the saliva can degrade the adhesive properties of the film leading to hazing, bubbling, peeling, and discoloration over time. While we strive to provide durable and high-quality window tinting solutions, Flatirons Detailing LLC will not be held liable for damage caused by external factors such as pet saliva.

Q: Do certain vehicle brands/manufacturers have ultra reflective glass?
A: Yes, while this may be off-putting to some, we think that it adds a touch of elegance to your vehicle when tinted. Mercedes Benz in particular add a special coating/layer to their glass with a rather reflective finish. Film is always installed on the interior of the vehicle’s windows, thus the reflective sheen will likely not dissipate after installation. Flatirons Detailing LLC will not be responsible for tint removal or reapplication if the result is undesired. This is purely an aesthetic preference rather than a defect of the film or installation process.

Q: Is there a warranty on your window tinting services?
A: At Flatirons Detailing, we stand behind the quality of our craft and the products we use. Our warranty policy discussed in detail in our terms and conditions, which is a required read prior to scheduling any service with our team, covers any defects resulting from the film itself or our installation process. This includes bubbling, peeling, fading, and discoloration that may arise due to manufacturing defects. Our warranty does not however, extend to damage caused by external factors such as scratches, abrasion, exposure to harsh chemicals, window seal contamination, door compartment contamination or dust entrapment, improper care, pet saliva presence, cuts, seat-belt chips, ring chips, key scratches, etc.

Q: How did my window tint develop scratches?
A: Window tint and windows themselves can easily become scratches from contaminants, dirt, dust, and other debris that become lodged within the interior of the window housing due to friction and abrasion. Over time, particles present in the air settle within the window housing, which will inevitably result in vertical scratches that cannot be removed. While we take every precaution to ensure a flawless installation, Flatirons Detailing LLC will not be held liable for the subsequent handling of the vehicle after the installation is complete; we will not be held liable for any damage that occurs to the window or the film after the client picks the vehicle up or after the job has been completed.

Q: What are the black dots along the edge of my glass? Why won’t the tint adhere well?
A: Window tint may not adhere properly to the dot matrix - a raised ceramic-based grid pattern found on some vehicle windows. The dot matrix creates a textured art that can interfere with the adhesive bond between the tint film and the glass. As a result, the tint may not adhere uniformly, leading to issues such as peeling or bubbling. It is essential for clients to acknowledge prior to installation that while we strive for meticulous installation and flawless results, we cannot guarantee complete adhesion to the dot matrix, as it is an intrinsic characteristic of most vehicle windows.

Q: Why are you unable to tint the sunroof, moonroof, or panoramic glass of my vehicle?
A: At Flatirons Detailing, we typically do not install window tint on sunroofs due to a combination of structural and safety considerations. Sunroofs are often made of tempered glass, which is different from the laminated glass commonly found in side and rear windows. Sunroofs are exposed to direct sunlight and extreme heat, which can lead to extreme temperature differentials between the tinted glass and the surrounding frame. This thermal stress can potentially cause the glass to expand and contract unevenly, increasing the risk of cracking or shattering.

Q: What are VLT and SHGC?
A: Visible light transmittance (VLT) is a value that represents the percentage of visible light that passes through the tinted window. A lower VLT percentage indicates darker tint, while a high percentage indicates lighter tint. Solar heat gain coefficient (SHGC,) measures the fraction of solar radiation admitted through a window. It represents the amount of heat transmitted through the tinted window. A lower SHGC indicates better heat rejection, meaning less solar heat enters the vehicle.

Paint Protection Film Application Terms & Conditions Continued:
-
Paint: Pay may lift on repainted panel/OEM paint if improperly prepped and painted. By authorizing Flatirons Detailing LLC to proceed with the install of the PPF film, the client herby acknowledges the risk, waives any claims against Flatirons Detailing LLC, and agrees that Flatirons Detailing LLC will not be held liable in the even that damage does occur during any installation or removal process. Flatirons Detailing will not remove film or vinyl installed from other dealers or installers.
-
Condition of Vehicle for Paint Protection Film Application: Vehicles cannot have any type coatings on the finish, and we require clients to disclose if these were applied at any time during the vehicle's history. These can affect the effectiveness of the adhesion and may cause lifting, bubbles, and other issues with are not covered under the manufacturer warranties. The client is aware that the design of the paint protection film is for OEM factory paint. The client waives and releases Flatirons Detailing LLC from any warranty or damage claims where a product has been applied to a non-OEM painted surface. PPF installation over rock-chips will appear like contamination after the install due to the hills/valleys and unevenness in the paint surface. We do not recommend touch-up paint on smaller chips, due to the negative aesthetic attributes.
-
Installation: Some of our paint protection kits are computer-cut using specialized software only available to skilled, trained, and certified technicians. Precut kits involve stopping short of an edge, edges around badges, and corners. The client understands that the paint protection film is a sacrificial layer for your car and not a complete invisible. Please remember paint protection film will never be considered paint perfection film. Clients may choose to have a custom-fit design or bulk-fit install for an additional fee.
-
Exposed Edges & Seams: Although we strive to wrap all edges and tight areas, some cannot be wrapped due to the intricacy, improper paint leveling, etc. Debris can build up over time on exposed edges/seams, and will appear more visible on white or light-colored vehicles. We recommend ceramic coating over the PPF to mitigate debris and contaminant contact with the PPF surface directly. There is no warranty or reapplication of any film due to natural debris build-up, regardless of color or lifespan of the film.
-
Imperfections: Although we strive for perfection in our installations, due to the nature of this product, some degree of dust contamination and or minor imperfections are present in paint protection film application. Also, pre-existing flaws such as scratches, rock-chips, tree-sap, clear-coat defect, misaligned body panels, and sanding/abrasion marks are very noticeable after the film is applied. PPF will have minor imperfections such as slight orange peel and may also include other manufacturer defects. Vehicles with 200+ (two-hundred or more) miles will inevitably already have imperfections despite normal road use and driving conditions. Slight milkiness, silvering, or bubbles may occur or appear after PPF installation. This is nothing to be concerned about, as this is typical in PPF installation due to some moisture being left under the film. We will always do our best to mitigate residual moisture, and in some cases, these areas may take up to thirty (30) days to fully dissipate.
-
Badge & Trim Removal - At Flatirons Detailing, we prioritize the highest quality services, and are committed to retaining OEM badging and equipment whenever possible. In certain instances, badge and trim removal may be necessary, but our teams will always avoid badge removal when it is reasonable to do so. Should a badge, emblem, or trim be deemed necessary to remove or if this is requested by the client, it is the responsibility of the client to cover the cost of replacing the removed badge or trim piece. Clients should be aware that due to high demand or manufacturing delays, certain emblems and decals may be on backorder; though we strive to minimize inconvenience, Flatirons Detailing LLC cannot guarantee immediate availability of replacement badges or trim pieces.
-
Headlights & Taillights: Headlights and taillights are not compatible for most PPF, due to HID features and the exterior layer inevitably peeling with the film if ever removed. Flatirons Detailing LLC will not install PPF or any film on exterior lights unless specifically requests this service. By authorizing Flatirons Detailing LLC to proceed with headlight or taillight PPF installation, the client hereby acknowledges the risk, waives and claims against Flatirons Detailing LLC, and agrees that Flatirons Detailing LLC will not be held liable.
-
Pressure Washer Utilization & Drive-Through Car Wash: Clients understand that they must keep pressure washers away from PPF applied areas on their vehicle. A pressure washer will lift the film off of the vehicle, will cause unsightly bubbling and peeling. Flatirons Detailing reserves the right to void any warranties if clients have not followed the included instructional guide on maintenance washing. The use of a pressure washer is indicative of a large expansion of film, and is immediately noticeable by all our inspection team. Similarly, the dry time for PPF is nearly four weeks, depending on climate and weather conditions. Do not wash your vehicle for the first seven days minimum; the vehicle should return to Flatirons within 2-4 weeks for a maintenance hand-wash, as we recommend this method for any vehicle that has film applied. Spinning brushes/drive-through car washes will void all warranties with Flatirons Detailing LLC, and markings from these washes are very visually apparent.

The client is responsible for any spelling, grammatical errors, number errors, etc. Flatirons Detailing LLC will not print any photos with nudity, explicit content, swearing, or company logos that are copyrighted or trademarked. Any changes made by the client after final approval and receipt of proof will result in Flatirons Detailing LLC assessing additional charges for any time or materials used to make changes after the process begins. If the wrap installation/application process has begun, the client will be charged for the removal fee in addition to the secondary installation fee.
-
Repairs & Maintenance: Flatirons Detailing LLC will not be responsible for any repairs made to the vehicle(s) outside of our facility, or without prior written consent. Flatirons Detailing will determine the best course of action for repair and the repair shall not exceed 10% of the invoice associated with any specific vehicle. Flatirons Detailing LLC will not compensate clients for opinion and work provided by a third party, including repairs, lock-outs, etc, unless Flatirons Detailing LLC provides prior written consent.
-
Vehicle Preparation: The client is responsible for ensuring the vehicle is clean and free of surface debris. We recommend washing the vehicle through our detailing services or scheduling with us 1-3 days prior to the beginning of your film installation. A simple solution of pH neutral foaming car soap is recommended, and utilizing a two-bucket method at minimum. If a vehicle is not delivered to the designated location in a washed, dried, and ready-to-install condition, Flatirons Detailing will recommend a full exterior wash and decontamination, that is not otherwise included in any application services provided by Flatirons Detailing LLC. If it is decided that the vehicle is required to be cleaned by an installer of the team, Flatirons Detailing LLC will charge a minimum $120 dollars/hr per vehicle that requires washing and drying prior to beginning the installation process.
-
Vehicle Inspection: At vehicle drop-off, a representative of Flatirons Detailing LLC will perform a thorough pre-inspection of the client's vehicle. This inspection is to identify any pre-existing conditions of the surfaces of the vehicle, functionality of the windows, doors, locks, lights, etc. Any conditions will be logged, photographed, and all will be done in HD format, as we will not accept any fraudulent claims. This however, is not a mechanical inspection; any engine problems, battery discharge, brake failure, transmission issues, etc. are not a result of anything that Flatirons Detailing LLC could do regardless of circumstances. Flatirons Detailing LLC nor it's designated agents shall be responsible for any damage sustained to the vehicle prior to drop-off at Flatirons Detailing LLC, and upon full inspection by a representative of Flatirons Detailing LLC.
-
Appearance: The client understands that the product being purchased and installed is a vinyl wrap, not a paint job. There will be seams, overlays, and patches that are necessary to cover the entire vehicle, or what is agreed upon in writing by Flatirons Detailing LLC and the client; door jambs, rain-gutters, and other areas will not be included in any film installation packages or quotes by Flatirons Detailing LLC unless requested by the client and agreed upon in writing prior to beginning the installation process. It is understood and is an industry standard that vinyl wraps on vehicles and similar equipment are to viewed from a minimum of ten feet away. The client authorizes Flatirons Detailing LLC to make any alterations to the vinyl wrap in order to provide a more seamless and non-damaging result. Flatirons Detailing will not be responsible for any damages emblems or badges on the client's vehicle.
-
Industry Standard & Appearance Continued: There may be extreme curves, channels, or moldings within the vehicle body and shape that the vinyl might not properly adhere to such as the spoiler, deck lid, scoops, ducts, radiator intakes, complicated and intricate grille or frontal fascial structures. There may be areas around the door handles, locks, pins, bolts, exposed edges, etc. where this is also visually apparent. Vehicle-grade vinyl wrap is made in 52-64" vertical panels of vinyl. There will always be one inch seams where panels meet to ensure proper adhesion. Flatirons Detailing LLC cannot guarantee that graphics will match 100% as the panels meet, especially on a complex design or vehicle with said shapes/contours. It is not reasonable for any client to expect printed vinyl or color-change vinyl to look and appear exactly like paint, OEM or non-factory painted. A piece of vinyl has limits, and our job is to ensure your vehicle looks appealing while also lasting several years in Colorado's conditions. Areas under door handles, gas caps, door jambs/frames, rain-gutter, etc. will not be included in the wrap quote or estimation of cost. Flatirons Detailing LLC will make client aware of any potential future flaws that may occur with their specific vehicle prior to beginning the installation process.
-
Removals: All removals will be quotes separately and these requests may be denied. Wrap removal can be incredibly time and labor consuming, which is why Flatirons Detailing LLC will always charge by the hour, a minimum of $120. Flatirons Detailing LLC will not be responsible for any paint, clear-coat, fake chrome, or striping damage when we remove any film including vinyl wrap. The client understand and accepts that Flatirons Detailing LLC will not be held liable under any circumstance.
-
Vehicle Paint Surface Disclaimer: Flatirons Detailing LLC explicitly disclaims all warranties related to vehicle damage for the followed: All OEM painted plastics, non-OEM painted plastics, buses, planes, trains, RVs, used food trucks, custom or modified vehicles, pro touring or drifting/rally vehicles, racing vehicles, and any paint that is over three years old. Flatirons Detailing LLC will not be held responsible for any damage to paint and/or clear coat of the client's vehicle.

Window Tint | Terms & Warranty

When scheduling a Window Tint appointment with Flatirons Detailing LLC, you are required to read the terms & conditions & FAQ prior to completing the scheduling process. We take pride in our services and strive to provide you with the best results. It is important for you to understand the terms of our warranty disclaimer for the Vinyl Wrap applied to your vehicle. The terms & conditions mentioned in the PPF & Vinyl Wrap sections apply to the Window Tint services regarding most warranties.

-
Clients must ensure their vehicle’s window tint meets all local and state regulations. Flatirons Detailing LLC will not be held liable under any circumstances, for any legal issues that arise to any tint-related infraction or similar. The client must agree to fully accept all liability/consequences associated with window tint that may be deemed illegal by the client’s registered state. Flatirons Detailing LLC will not issue any refunds or perform additional services, without compensation, such as film removal because of citation or court summons.
-
Imperfections: Per the International Window Film Association, IWFA, any glass applied film on an automobile shall be viewed at right angles to the glass from the room side and at a distance no less than six, 6, feet. Viewing shall be carried out in natural daylight, not in direct sunlight. The installation shall be deemed acceptable if all of the following are unobtrusive: dirt particles, hair, fibers, adhesive gels, fingerprints, air bubbles, water haze, scores, scratches, film distortion, creases, edge lifting, nicks and tears. If any of these conditions exist after installation, we require the client to come in-person to our shop, to ensure we are able to properly identify any contamination and evaluate the film. Note, we take dozens of pictures per vehicle, and our highly trained technicians know what to look for in terms of film failure vs application failure. We are unable to view any film over the phone, as viewing from anything under six feet would not comply with IWFA standards & guidelines for window tint application.
-
Gaps Near and Around Edges: While our highly skilled installers make every effort to ensure the film lays as closely to the edges as possible, when film is installed correctly to ensure durability, there will be slight gaps. Similarly, this ensures that film edges are not raised up by contact with the frame margin, dot matrix, mouldings, or similar features. In certain situations, a gap must exist to ensure a flush and durable installation that will provide UV resistance for years.
-
Dark/Limo Tints: Darker tint films or “blackout” films have much higher heat absorption rates, and are considered a higher risk film to install. Glass temperature increase and subsequent expansion is inevitable, thus Flatirons Detailing LLC will not be held responsible for any shattered or broken glass due to heat resistance. Similarly, Flatirons Detailing LLC will not be held liable under any circumstance, for any vehicular accidents related to the lack of visibility during any time of day. Clients understand that by installing any level of window tint, they accept full responsibility for their vehicle in all capacities.
-
Flatirons Detailing LLC shall not be held liable for any accidents, damages, injuries, or losses incurred as a result of the installation or presence of window tinting in the client's vehicle. The client understands that window tinting to any percentage or degree may affect visibility and acknowledges that it is their responsibility to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations pertaining to vehicle safety and visibility. Flatirons Detailing LLC hereby releases any responsibility and liability for any accidents or incidents that may occur after our services have been rendered. In the event that a client is involved in an accident resulting in purchase of a new vehicle at the client's expense, Flatirons Detailing LLC shall not be held accountable for reinstallation, reapplication, labor, or any associated fees incurred thereof. Any claims, demands, or liabilities arising from such incidents shall be solely the responsibility of te client.
-
Defroster Lines: When removing window tint from any window, especially the rear window with horizontal defroster lines, there is risk for damage. Despite meticulous technique, high-tech steamers, and plastic scrapers, it is possible that these defroster lines will be damaged. The client understands that Flatirons Detailing LLC will not be held liable for any damage to this mechanism during removal.
-
Release of Liability: By using our services, you acknowledge and agree that Flatirons Detailing LLC, it’s employees, agents, and owners shall not be liable for any damages, losses, or injuries arising from the use of our services. You release Flatirons Detailing LLC from any liability for damages to your vehicle or it’s contents that may occur during the provision of our services, including but not limited to accident, theft, vandalism, acts of nature, or battery discharge.
-
Indemnification: You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Flatirons Detailing LLC, it’s employee, agents, and owners from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including attorney fees) arising out of or relating to your use of our services, or any violation of these Terms and Conditions.
-

It is the client’s responsibly to review these Terms and Conditions periodically for changes. Your continued use of our services after the posting of any modifications constitutes acceptance of those changes.
